  Sayulita is on the west coast, near Puerta Vallarta, I think.
  
  Ajijic is at Lake Chapala. My husband and I were there a couple of years ago. We're interested in spending some time in Mexico and are searching for interesting places.

    Sayulita is 45 North of Puerto Vallarta on the West Coast of Mexico. it is on the same latitude as Hawaii.

  It is not more than 90 minutes from vallarta. Just take the street in north direction and youre there! There are many cheap buses that take you there for a few (2-3?) dollars :)
